Men at Work

Men at Work is poised on the razor’s edge of current troubles, tensions and perceptions surrounding masculinities at this moment in history. Searching hard for meaning in the mess, a solo performer navigates a strange and contradictory building site where all things fall and are built again.

Both a wide view of the present and an exorcism of the storms within, this performance cries out a crisis in raising men. A vulnerable, explosive attempt to move with and through the dark, Men at Work pushes towards continual change and greater understandings of the complexity of a human life.

This work was due to premier at Into the New Festival at The Pearce Institute in Govan in March 2020, but was cancelled in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Both the festival and this performance hope to be relit when the assembly of a live audience is possible.
